FPAT Introduction

The Financial Planning Association of Taiwan (FPAT) was established in 2003 and officially became a member of the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) in November, 2004. The Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) was formerly known as the International CFP Council established by the U.S. CFP Board of Standards in 1990. In 2004, the Council invited overseas representatives and decided to found the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB), an independent international non-profit organization responsible for global (excluding the U.S.) CFP® certification, standardization, and promotion.

The Financial Planning Association of Taiwan (FPAT) is a nonprofit organization with the objectives to promote concepts of lifestyle financial planning, improve local financial planners’ professional standards, and further the development of CFP® certification. The purpose is to realize the ultimate goal of putting investors’ benefits first and having CFP® accredited consultants to offer professional and proper Lifestyle Financial Planning services to the public.
